A roaster that started as a bicycle cart at the Miami Flea and grew into an industrial-chic Edgewater staple with wifi and seating to spare.

The Story

Vice City Bean started with a bicycle coffee cart at the Miami Flea in 2016, then graduated to a brick-and-mortar in the Filling Station Lofts — an industrial-chic space at the Edgewater/Wynwood border that still feels like the underdog made good. They roast in-house in small batches and pour guest roasters alongside their own, with house-made almond and macadamia milks.

What to Order

The Latte is the CoffeeBoy pick — house-roasted espresso with legit latte art and the option of that house-made nut milk. It's the drink that built their reputation.

The Nitro Cold Brew is a 10-hour steep, nitrogen-infused, and creamy — the coffee that drinks like a pour. The Matcha Latte is ceremonial-grade and never too sweet. And the Prana Chai is the anti-espresso: spiced, milky, and deeply warming.

The Experience

Vice City Bean is quietly one of the most workable spots in Edgewater. The wifi measured 50 Mbps during our visit, seating was plentiful across big tables and a window bar, and the noise stayed conversational through the work block.

The space is spacious with big windows and a concrete-and-wood aesthetic that's a lot nicer than "industrial" sounds. It's the kind of shop where you can arrive at 8am, order a latte, and still be productive at lunch. It's never the loudest room, and it's never the most crowded.

The Verdict

The underrated work-from-café in Edgewater. Solid coffee, real chairs, and nobody rushing you. Vice City Bean is proof that the best coffee shops don't need the loudest marketing — just good beans and good chairs.
